"You are the God who performs miracles" Psalm 77:14

Is this a School Project for You?

Liberian GirlWe are looking for B.C. Schools that will adopt a Village Ministry elementary school in Monrovia to help with school supplies for the children of grades K-9.  Students in B.C. schools can watch the progress with email pictures and receive scanned/emailed letters from African children and teachers can receive reports from the Director of Village Ministries.

At the same time B.C. students can learn about West African culture, geography and economics. Just learning how the children in this post civil war country are struggling to get an education puts western life into a new perspective.

There are approximately 500,000 children out of a total country population of 3 million who cannot go to school because of lack of money for supplies, shoes, food or teachers' wages.

Much needed supplies are starting to come in from individuals, but further assistance will be immensely appreciated. As part of our mission to help with the social upliftment of the people of Liberia, Village Ministries will send donated supplies over by container free of charge.

An Invitation to Come to Liberia

"Come Over And Help Us"  Luke 5:7

In Luke 10:29-37 we read about Jesus explaining, through the story of the Good Samaritan, who our neighbour is and who it is we should help. A man travelling along the mountain trail from Jerusalem to Jericho was attacked, robbed and left to die.Three different individuals taking the same journey find him. The first, a Jewish priest, passes him staying as far away as possible. The Second, a Levite, actually looked at the man and saw his need but left unaffected. The third person, a Samaritan who worshiped God and knew rejection had compassion for this fellow human being. He got involved and gave of his personal resources not expecting he would be repaid. He involved others to give help. He showed the mercy he had experienced from God.

For the Liberians, the road of life from "Jerusalem to Jericho" has been full of evil--a dangerous place. With the 14 year Civil War this country has been beaten, robbed and left to survive or die. We need to see them with our hearts not just our eyes, to touch their lives, speak on behalf of those who have no voice and share God's message of love, salvation, healing and restoration for their lives.  We need to ask ourselves, "What will happen to these people if we don't help?"
