This year 4 Muslim villages, near each other, were chosen for humanitarian gifts, a well, soccer camp with playoffs and Evangelistic Outreach showing CDs on the Gospel of Luke in the evenings outside.(SEE NEWSLETTERS 2010) After the presentation of the gospel, the muslim villagers were invited to accept Jesus Christ and there are pastors and counsellors in the audience who come forward to assist. In the work of Village Ministries, this is where so many become lasting Christians. God says, "I have chosen you that you should go and bear much fruit and your fruit should Remain...." These new Christians, many Muslim, are taken into fellowship with Christian Pastors and mentored in their walk with Jesus Christ. They are not becoming a Christian for what they can get from Village Ministries. As the Muslims step up their proselytizing it is important for us to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit and bravely follow it to these people while there is still the freedom to do so. Pastor Eric pays return visits to these villages to encourage the new believers.
These types of outreaches mean we must rent 3 vehicles to carry, staff, equipment and food at a cost of $175USD per vehicle per day. We need vehicles that can negotiate the very rough roads. We also must rent the equipment to show the Jesus Film. This is the heart of our ministry and the heart of God, "He that wins souls is wise" so this is where we call for your gifts to bring people in Liberia into the heavenly kingdom as end times approach.
One night after several film showing, there was no where for the team to sleep so at 1:30 in the morning we decided to head back to a guest house in Bong Mine. The rain began and was very heavy filling all the big ruts and holes in the roads so we could not tell which were safe to go through. By God's grace with our three vehicles following each other carefully we made it back towards Bong Mine and when we were almost there we were stopped because a container truck was stuck part way up a steep hill ahead of us and we could not pass. We thank God someone knew of an alternate road back from where we came so we turned around and were able to return to the guest house by another way. In the six days, many villages were reached and 6,115 people heard the gospel clearly and 1,643 accepted Christ. Isn't that wonderful? 30 LIBERIAN VILLAGES UNDER VILLAGE MINISTRY CARE TOTAL POPULATION
